LEADERSHIP AWARDS

Demonstrated Leadership in Management of Information Technology
The Demonstrated Leadership in Management of Information Technology award is available to technology managers who have staffed, planned and executed technology initiatives that have assisted their department/agency in meeting its mission. The winner of this category will be judged on the basis of vision, leadership and support of IT throughout the department/agency and the entire jurisdiction.

Demonstrated Excellence in Project Management
The Demonstrated Excellence in Project Management award will be presented to individual staff or managers who have shown extraordinary skill and responsibility in managing a specific technology-related initiative through all phases of development from conceptualization to deployment. The winner of this award will be determined on the basis of the overall success of the specific project, as well as the vision and leadership demonstrated.

Visionary Award
This award will be given to a government manager or official who has demonstrated vision, leadership and support of technology initiatives. The nominee should have a clear record of driving the use of technology, a demonstrated ability to identify future needs and a passion for serving the public. This category welcomes nominees regardless of whether they work inside or outside an information technology department/division.

DEVELOPMENT AWARDS

Best Application Serving a Public Organization's Business Needs
The Best Application Serving a Public Organization's Business Needs award will be presented to individuals and teams that have designed, developed and deployed new applications or improved existing systems that assist the organization in handling its day-to-day work.

Best Application Serving the Public
The Best Application Serving the Public award will be presented to individuals and teams that have designed, developed and deployed applications or improved existing systems that directly deliver services more efficiently and effectively to the public. For this award, the public may be defined as citizens, contractors, or vendors.

Best IT Collaboration Among Organizations
The Best IT Collaboration among Organizations award will be presented to individuals and/or organizations that have demonstrated special efforts to facilitate inter-organizational technology projects, governance initiatives, datashare initiatives and/or integration initiatives that lead to or facilitate greater cooperation between organizations, government agencies or business units. An outstanding application and/or collaborative effort between agencies or jurisdictions are the basic qualifiers for this award.

Most Innovative Use of Technology
The Most Innovative Use of Technology will be presented to individuals and/or organizations that have demonstrated a creative, unique and resourceful use of technology. Selection for this award will draw from all submissions for all categories.
