Being in the ‘know' about upcoming contract opportunities is a huge advantage for your company. More than that, missing out on hundreds of millions of dollars because you were unaware of a request for proposal (RFP) is damaging to your bottom line. Learn about huge potential upcoming projects in California and Texas.
Enterprise Data to Revenue Project
California has an enterprise data to revenue project (EDR) worth $200 million that is slated to start in July 2009 and end in July 2016. The project is for the Franchise Tax Board to reengineer Personal Income Tax and Business Entity Tax return processing, image all returns, expand data capture and provide enterprise services to enhance functionality.
Texas Commission Next Generation 9-1-1 Master Plan
The Commission on State Emergency Communications (CSEC) Next Generation 9-1-1 Master Plan, worth $110 million over the next six years, is to communicate the vision of the Texas NG9-1-1 System and the transition effort so that stakeholders may be actively engaged in its development and deployment. Implementation of NG9-1-1 will entail significant investment, detailed planning and close cooperation amount the public and private sector entities responsible for the operation of 9-1-1 systems. The existing system is based on technologies established decades ago and is a barrier to creating an integrated emergency call management system that would have the ability to exchange voice, data, text, photographs and live video through the 9-1-1 emergency communications center. The contract is in the Pre-RFP stage.
A Cost Estimate Report for this project shows $7.5 million being spent on this project in 2010. However, the CSEC Executive Summary for this project notes that the Texas Legislative Budget Board's recommendation for the 2010-2011 Biennium did not include funding for NG911, although recent stimulus funding may change that.
